Una alimentación sencilla se digiere mejor. El aparato digestivo no puede «reconocer» los alimentos cuando están demasiado mezclados entre si, ya que no puede formar los jugos digestivos adecuados a cada uno de ellos. Las enzimas o sustancias que actúan en la digestión de los nutrientes son diferentes para las frutas o las verduras, los cereales o los frutos secos, los lácteos o las legumbres.
